Why I started blogging

Hi Lovelies!

You may notice that I now have my own custom domain and a new lay-out on my blog. Why? Because I want to revive my blog and pick up my hobby again. This all made me thing about the reason I started this all in the first place. And I’m about to tell you!

I started my blog in 2014, when I was 16 years old. My social life was practically non-excisting, I had very few friends and got bullied.

So how did I ended up with a blog? Honestly, I started it on a whim, but I simply love writing stuff. Years before I started my blog, I wrote Love Stories. It was a segment in a teen magazine in Belgium, they were 1 page stories anyone could send in. Of course, I never did actually send them.

After that it was The Directioners Epoch. And oh yes, I was one of the people with a 40 page Niall Horan fanfiction on their laptops.

I think at some point I got tired of people ignoring me and I had just discovered Wattpad. And again in the heat of the moment I published my first Zayn Malik Imagine.

The reads made me believe that there are people that want to hear (read) what I have to say. And that I might actually be relatively good at writing English (since it’s not my native language).

All of this plus the fact that I had a really fun and bussy summer, which means so much to write about. So a month after the Wattpad experience I created a blog.

I never really had much traffic, but that doens’t matter. I got so happy when some one (maybe by accident) stumbled upon my blog. Let alone when someone liked it or commented.

My blog didn’t lead anywhere, or to be more presice, I never took it anywhere. I was inconsistent and I had no flippin’ clue what I was doing. But I know I can do this and I absolutely love doing it.

I’m going to spin this blog around and I going to change (I have to). And so is my book, which I’m slacking on as well. (shame shame).

Reading is my first love, Writing is my second and the thing with love is that you have to put in effort to make it work.

And if you love what you do, it’s worth it.

So, hereby I present to you the new and improved Bronx 2.0 and Simply 20 Seconds.

If you have a blog why did you started? Let me know in the comments and leave a link too!

  1. I m also an aspiring blogger. Still struggling with the starting problems. I could related to all this that you have one through. Keep it up! Cheers

  2. I started my blog for various reasons, but mainly because I feel like there are too many millennial beauty and fashion blogs around. Good luck with your journey!

    1. There are a LOT of them indeed! Which is why it is always nice to find a blog that deals with other stuff x

  3. I’m glad you’re keeping things honest, and I’m also glad you’ve started it again ? the new look looks amazing! And I started blogging in 2014 too ?

  4. So cool! I love the look and vibe of your website. Well done! I started my blog initially as a mom blog about my daily life as a mama. Things have shifted a bit, and now I love helping other women create a successful blog of their own. Happy blogging girl!

  5. Sounds great! I really can tell you have a passion. My blog started with my passion for saving, investing and making money as a millennial and budgeting money lol. The thing is my friends got tired of hearing me talk about it all the time so I had to find another platform to share. Hence, my blog Think Cents.

  6. I guess I started blogging so my voice could be heard. I don’t blog practically about anything “important” but I like sharing my thoughts and experiences. Most people (typically those who think I’m too young to have an opinion) don’t listen to me IRL, so blogging and connecting with those who have similar interests online has been great! 🙂

    1. I get it! I don’t write about ‘important’ stuff either, but it’s just nice to have people who listen and understand
And no one is too young to have an opionon

  7. Good for you! I’m glad you are started up again with something you love to do! I love blogging also! I think it’s a great way to share a little bit of me to the world (even if not that many people read it) It’s great fun!

  8. I can completely relate to your journey. I started and closed down several blogs before I finally decided to give it a real shot. Good luck with your journey ahead, and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out!
