I just finished my exam period! Whoop whoop! After a long period of studying (or at least trying to) everybody just needs a break. After you caught up with your friends and you got a little free time on your hand, it’s the perfect time for a little cosy night in!
- blankets and pillows
- (light) reading
- pamper products
- NO PHONES
1 Dress Cosy
When I plan a Cosy Night In, I like to start with changing into a warm and pretty PJ and fluffy socks (actually like any other day when I get home)! This is an absolute must, because people who relax in jeans can’t be trusted.
2 Dance Party
Next I put on some music to get my spirits up. Wait, actually no, I don’t put ‘some’ music on, I put THE music. You know the faves, the ‘happy makers’, the ‘I wanna get that booty shaking’-music. Because that’s right, a dance party I was I do next. You can’t deny that having your own mini dance party is making you happy. (singing along is more than encouraged as well!)
Now let’s get some cooking done! This can go either way. Or I try to make something new and special, a meal I never made before. Or I make something like pancakes, which is a totally appropriate evening meal on special occasions like these. But I do try to actually cook/bake/make something instead of ordering in. I like cooking and I find it relaxing. If you are a terrible cook or it only stresses you out, maybe order in just to not completely ruining the vibe we got going.
4 Home Spa
After that it is time for some pampering! Yes, that’s right get those face masks out. Get your make up off, do a face scrub, face mask, exfoliate and all that. Paint your nails a pretty colour. You can also opt to take a bath, just remember bathing right after you ate isn’t a great option for everybody. But if you do, BATH BOMBS! my favorites are still from Lush!
This is also the perfect time to get your reading out, face mask so have to dry first! Your current book or some magazines. If you’re not into reading, write a story of poem, make some doodles, whatever keeps you busy. I like to put on some soundtracks in the background, so I don’t have to sit in silence.
Don’t knwo which book to read? I have the perfect list for you to pick from!
5 Pillow Fort
Collect all the pillows and blankets you can find and make you bed or couch as soft and cosy as possible. Organize it so that you’ll be comfortable all evening! But hold on, before you dive in, we got to prep the rest of the night. If you have fairy lights, turn them on. If you’re like me and still have your Christmas tree up, light it up!
6 Cinema Time
Get your movies out. I usually go for a classic oldie like Grease or my love for Disney Channel movies rises and pick one of those. Sometimes I’ll go for a movie I haven’t seen before, but 97% of the time I don’t. I like the feeling when I watch a movie I haven’t seen for ages. I can’t describe the feeling but it’s great.
Lastly make some popcorn (or get some chips) and then you may dive in your cocoon of blankets and happily watch your movie!
7 Hot Coco
If you haven’t fallen asleep during the movie and you are up to something extra, make yourself a nice hot cup of hot chocolate. Add some whipped cream and/or mini marshmallows (sprinkles, extra chocolate, cacao powder, caramel sirop, …), just because you can. who doesn’t what to go to bed when they just finished a sugar bomb :p
And that is my Cosy Night In, I hope you like these ideas and will plan a Night In yourself!
