Fall is all around us! yay! All adjusted to the colder weather, pulled out the lovely sweaters! It’s my favorite time of the year! Nature is at its prettiest, candles smell the best and pumpkin soup is a regular at our college cafeteria!

One thing I think is very important in autumn (and winter) is a good structured Morning Routine!

Why, you ask?
Well, the night are getting shorter and colder. But you still have to work/learn all day. Because who cares its pitch black outside, I still have to walk to school through a park….

But no, seriously, a morning routine can really up your productivity and your energie throughout the day! So Today I will share my own Morning Routine of this Fall!

Let get into this!

I’m going to say a very popular sentence now:
My morning routine starts the night before… yes, I know, but it’s true!

The night before I get myself a big glass of water for on my night stand.
I can’t count the night where I woke up with a dry mouth and no water. But it has actually another bigger reason!

Start the day all the same

It is known that your sleeping cycle is better when you go to bed and wake up at the same hour every day! Our body work in cycles and love consistency. When you follow these hours the best you can it will improve your sleep and hence make you feel more awake in the day.

I wake up every day between 6.30AM and 7AM. Yes, also in weekend. It may be hard at first, but after a while you will see the effect on your sleep quality, energy and maybe even productivity!


Remember the big glass of water next to my bed? This is the moment to use it! Every morning when I wake up I drink up a big glass of water (minus the sips I may have taken through the night).

Why is it important to start your day with water (and not coffee or tea)?

Drinking water first thing in the morning helps your body get rid of toxins. It’s helps the metabolism and of course hydrates!

But also a very important benefit to remember. Drinking water in the morning (and through the whole day) will make you feel better. It sounds like BS, but it’s true. Now don’t expect miraculous effect, but try it!

Wakey wakey, eggs and bacy

Yes!!! it’s time for breakfast!! Now I know how a healthy breakfast should look like, but I’m in college I don’t have the time nor the money. So breakfast is coffee and bread with Nutella :p

But just know you have to gain your energy from this meal, so eat enough. You shouldn’t have to get to lunch with 3 chocolate biscuit bars in between!

Tip: feeling hungry? drink water. It will make the hunger go away!

While I eat I check my mail, social media and check my course schedule. And maybe read a chapter of my current book if i have time left.

Skin Care, Baby!

I am not a make-up girl. I suck at applying it, I don’t have the patience to do it. The only thing I give into very few times is mascara.

But even though I don’t wear make-up, and thus not many ‘harming’ products on my face, that doesn’t mean a skin care routine is unnecessary.

I will post a full on Skin Care update soon, with all the product that I use this autumn and all that routine suff!

Get creative!

Since I get up so early, I have quite some time left in the morning. And since I am 100% a morning person, I am most productive and creative in these few hours.

So what I like to do is open my notebook (or laptop) and brainstorm for everything I can think of. Blog ideas, freebies, book ideas, goals, to do lists, things for school.

Your brain processes all the information of the day before while you sleep. So When you wake up, you have all this clean processed info untouched by all the new data right in front of you! Use this in your advantage!

You can also journal, which follows the same idea. I think journalling in the morning works better than in the evening. Because everything is proccesed and put in perspective.

On My Way!

Then 20 minutes before class starts I put on some music and leave the cosiness of my dorm.

    1. I used to be a night owl, but over the years it changed. instead of studying till late at night, I decided to get up earlier because it was handier at the time to do this. And I guess it stuck with me :p

  1. It is extremely important to hydrate in the colder months when the skin is much more vulnerable to dry out and flake. Drinking water is also important, we shouldn’t reduce how much water we consume because we aren’t sweating it off. This year I put lotion in all my purses and years to stay moisturized and not be out and about and need lotion or have to ask friends for it.

    1. Drinking water has more efects than people initially realise! and my skin is extremely dry at the moment, even with moisturizing. I’ve tried so many products. If you have a recommendation let me know!! x

  2. This is a perfect routine! I have noticed that when I drink water first thing in the morning I feel more awake and ready to take on the day compared to the days that I rush out of the house and forget my bottle of water. Water is a must in the morning! I have tried to incorporate a quick morning stretch or a few yoga poses to wake me up because nights have been a little rough lately with my little guys waking up multiple times throughout the night. 🙂

    1. A quick stretch is a great idea! maybe I should integrate it in my routine as well! (sitting in lectures all day can’t be good for your posture :p ). And yeah water is so effective and you quickly adopt in into your day as well. put it on your workspace and you’ll automatically reach for it more often than you’d think!
